✨ How It Works
1. Consultation & Design
*Customize Existing Designs: Any existing ready-to-wear design from our shop can be fully customized and altered according to your specific wishes, details, and preferences.
*Custom Ideas: You can also share your own inspiration photos or ideas. We will interpret your vision through Herculano’s unique African-Nordic aesthetic. Together, we define the silhouette, length, and details.
2. Fabrics & Sourcing Options
We select our textiles with sustainability and uniqueness in mind. Depending on where your garment is made, we have different fabric solutions:
*Production in Nigeria: High-quality, vibrant fabrics are sourced directly from our trusted partners in Nigeria.
*Production in Norway (Vestby): We have a handpicked selection of beautiful fabrics available directly at our Norwegian studio.
*Bringing Your Own Fabric: You are welcome to supply your own fabric for production in Norway. To guarantee our high standards of quality and structure, we only accept 100% cotton.
*Exclusivity: We never recreate the exact same design and fabric combination for another customer. Your piece remains 100% unique.
3. Deposit & Payment Policy
*When is a deposit required? If we are sourcing fabric for your order (either from Nigeria or our Norway studio), a fabric deposit starting from 400 NOK is required before we purchase the material (Each 6 yards bundel).
*How does it work? This deposit secures your fabric and will be fully deducted from your final invoice. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable if you choose to cancel after the fabric has been bought.
*Are there exceptions? If you supply your own 100% cotton fabric for production in Norway, no fabric deposit is needed.
*Final Confirmation: Before production officially begins, we double-check all design details, measurements, and timelines. Once both parties sign a simple agreement, full payment of the remaining balance is required before we start sewing. AI is a great tool for visualisation.
4. Creation & Delivery
We offer two different production routes based on your timeline, fabric choice, and budget:
*🌍 Standard Production (Nigeria): Takes 4–5 weeks on average. Cut and sewn in our partner atelier in Nigeria using locally sourced fabrics, quality-checked, and shipped to you after a quality check at our Norwegian studio.
*🧵 Studio Production (Vestby, Norway): Takes around 2 weeks. Tailored directly in our Norwegian studio using our in-house selection or your own 100% cotton fabric.
📐 Measurements We Need
To get started, it is helpful if you have these standard measurements ready (measured in cm):
*Bust: Around the fullest part of your chest.
*Waist: Around your natural waistline (above your belly button).
*Stomach / Belly: Around the fullest part of your stomach.
*Hips: Around the fullest part of your hips.
*Desired Length: From your shoulder or waist down to where you want the garment to end.

📦 Return & Exchange Policy for Custom Orders
Please note that our standard 14-day return policy only applies to ready-to-wear items in our online shop.
*Custom Items are Final Sale: Because tailor-made pieces are custom-cut and sewn to your exact personal measurements, they cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded.
*Our Perfect Fit Guarantee: If your garment arrives and needs minor adjustments to fit you correctly, please contact us within 14 days of delivery. We will gladly work with you to make the necessary alterations.

Can I order a standard item from the shop but change the design?
Yes, absolutely! All of our existing ready-to-wear designs can be modified, altered, or adjusted to fit your personal style and preferences.
What happens if the garment doesn't fit perfectly when it arrives?
We offer a Perfect Fit Guarantee. If minor adjustments are needed, contact us within 14 days of delivery, and we will help you arrange alterations.
Can I change my mind after production has started?
Once production begins, the fabric has been cut to your exact measurements, and changes or cancellations are no longer possible.
Can I send you a photo of a dress from another brand and have you copy it?
We do not copy other designers' work. However, we love using your inspiration photos to create a brand-new, unique design tailored to Herculano's African-Nordic aesthetic.
